getting there
hamilton & dune are situated in emu bay, kangaroo island – an unspoilt, wild and diverse island. getting to the accommodation is possible by both plane and car.
by plane
fly from adelaide to kingscote on a 20 minute qantaslink flight. departing daily, you arrive at the island’s only airport.
emu bay is a 20 minute drive from kingscote airport on sealed roads.

alternatively, budget and hertz hire cars may be arranged. a set of wheels is useful if you plan on doing anything more than strolling, swimming and switching off. kangaroo island is bigger than you might think and there is so much to see and do. ideally get hold of a 4wd, particularly if you plan to drive on extraordinary emu bay beach.
by car
If you prefer to bring your own car, sealink www.sealink.com.au operates large, fast and comfortable ocean-going catamaran ferries between cape jervis on the south australian mainland, and penneshaw on kangaroo island.
the drive from adelaide to cape jervis needs three hours. the ferry crossing is 45min. the drive from penneshaw to emu bay is one hour.
we enjoy stacking the car, and taking the time to drive/ferry over. but this option may not suit the time poor traveller.
houses are 5 minutes apart on foot.
